Virginia Opera Announces its 2013-14 Season

Virginia Opera, The Official Opera Company of the Commonwealth of Virginia, announces its 2013-14 Season that features four, brand-new mainstage productions and two Special Engagement productions that span comedy, drama, farce and grand opera. The Company’s 39th Subscription Season will open with Falstaff in September, followed by The Magic Flute in November, Ariadne auf Naxos in February, and Carmen in March. Special Engagements next season will include performances of The Girl of the Golden West in January and Sweeney Todd in May.

Virginia Opera to Present Popular Musical Camelot

Virginia Opera, The Official Opera Company of the Commonwealth of Virginia, will present Camelot, the award-winning musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, as an addition to its 38th Season. Performances are scheduled for this coming January at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, Va., Christopher Newport University’s Ferguson Center for the Arts in Newport News, Va., and the Landmark Theater in Richmond, Va.

Virginia Opera to Present Two Productions on Behalf of Lyric Opera Virginia

Virginia Opera, The Official Opera Company of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Lyric Opera Virginia jointly announce that Virginia Opera will now present previously scheduled Lyric Opera Virginia productions of both Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot and Giacomo Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West (The Girl of the Golden West) to audiences throughout the Commonwealth.
