Virginia Opera Remounts Production of Die Fledermaus

Virginia Opera, The Official Opera Company of the Commonwealth of Virginia, presents a revival of Die Fledermaus by “Waltz King” Johann Strauss II, as the second production of its 38th Season. Regularly scheduled performances will be held in Norfolk, Richmond and Fairfax, with an additional performance now scheduled in Richmond for Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m., after the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Helmed by famed director Dorothy Danner, this production was first performed at Virginia Opera in 2003, where it was hailed as “sparkling and successful” by The Virginian-Pilot and “one of the most thoroughly enjoyable operatic experiences” by The Washington Post.

Virginia Opera Launches New Web Site

Virginia Opera Artists to perform at Rose Fest

RICHMOND, Va. (September 24, 2012) – Virginia Opera artists will return to this year’s Rose Fest at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Performances will take place between 12:15 and 2:30 p.m. Admission is free for Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden members with standard admission charged to non-members.

Virginia Opera announces Bourbon & Bizet for Young Professionals at 2113 Bistro-Lounge

RICHMOND, Va. (September 10, 2012) – Virginia Opera, The Official Opera Company of the Commonwealth of Virginia, announces Bourbon & Bizet—a special event for Young Professionals—will take place on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 beginning at 5:30 P.M. at 2113 Bistro-Lounge in Richmond, Va. Tickets for the event are $30 in advance and $35 at the door and available at www.vaopera.org.
