How can you make a scene this season? Support Virginia Opera’s Annual Fund Campaign.

Community support and contributions from you, our valued patrons, account for over 60% of our budget. Gifts to the Annual Fund Campaign help fund the following artistic initiatives:

• First of Firsts – ensuring that each season’s opening night production is a company first, which will expand our repertoire, bring our audiences exciting new productions, and give us additional relevance in the opera world.
• American Opera Cycle – continuing our repertoire expansion and introducing productions rooted in the American spirit, focusing on works composed since 1950.
• Emerging Artist Master Teacher series – providing sixteen emerging artists with the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most respected and talented performers in an intimate, educational setting.

In addition to providing essential support for mainstage performances in our three statewide venues, donations to Virginia Opera provide crucial funds needed to send our in-school touring and outreach programs to over 125 schools and community venues each year, reaching over 120,000 students and adults from Norfolk to Fairfax.
